We believe that musical knowledge and skills are crucial in providing children with the tools to express identity, belonging and feelings in their personal lives. During their time at Heage, we aim for all children to engage and foster a love of music.  We will help children to embed knowledge though links to other subjects and topics across the curriculum.  Our lessons create an ambitious and coherent curriculum for all pupils.

Our curriculum intent for music encompasses our six Heage values. They will embrace teamwork and all that this can offer in relation to listening to and creating music, singing and the togetherness that music can provide. Our intent is to engage our children with music through the use of the Music Express scheme, in addition to Sing Up and other available resources. The topics covered will often be related to other subjects and will incorporate knowledge and skills from the National Curriculum.
