Our D & T Vision

At Heage Primary School, Design and Technology is a vibrant and inclusive subject where creativity meets purpose. We aim to inspire all children to become innovative thinkers, problem-solvers, and collaborative learners who are equipped to shape the world around them.

Through engaging, hands-on experiences, our D&T curriculum encourages teamwork, as pupils work together to design, build, and evaluate projects. We foster a culture of respect, where every idea is valued and diverse perspectives are celebrated.

We nurture resilience by challenging pupils to persevere through trial and error, learning from mistakes and celebrating progress. Our approach is rooted in compassion and kindness, ensuring that all learners feel supported and confident to take creative risks in a safe and caring environment.

Above all, we promote honesty in the design process—encouraging children to reflect truthfully on their work, give constructive feedback, and take pride in their achievements.
