Headteachers Welcome

Donna Hallam Deputy Head

I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all of you as the new Headteacher of our caring and nurturing school. Heage Primary is a school that has relationships at the centre of all we do. We are a school that prides ourselves on being a school where pupils, staff, governors, parents and the school community work extremely hard and have high expectations of themselves and others.

At Heage Primary, we believe in providing a safe and supportive environment where every child feels a sense of secure attachment and belonging. We understand that each child comes to us with their own unique experiences and backgrounds, and we are committed to recognising and celebrating the differences and diversity of school community as a whole.

We believe that our differences make us stronger and we strive to create an inclusive learning community, where everyone feels valued and respected. Our curriculum and teaching practices reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our children and their families, ensuring that they see themselves represented and can learn from each other's perspectives.

Myself and the staff team value the voice of every pupil as this is their lived experience of Primary School and it is our duty to ensure their voices are heard and they feel they can contribute to the way in which their school is lead. We believe that their opinions and ideas matter, and we actively involve them in decision-making processes, through our pupil voice initiatives. We empower our students to take ownership of their learning and to become active participants in shaping their educational experience.

The family-school partnership demonstrates our commitment to be relationship focused. We believe that strong collaboration between home and school is essential for the success of our pupils. We encourage open and transparent communication with parents and guardians, and we actively seek their input and involvement in their child's education.

As we continue to develop our website you will find extra information on our curriculum, extracurricular activities, upcoming events, and much more.

I am confident that with our caring and nurturing environment, trauma-informed practices, commitment to diversity, focus on challenge and pupil voice, and strong family-school partnership, we will provide an exceptional educational experience for your child.

Welcome to Heage Primary School

Warm regards,

Mrs Hallam
